Impact Factory was approached by Hyundai Motor Europe (HME) who were looking to invest in presentation training. The European Head Office is based in Frankfurt and as Hyundai is a South Korean Company there is an impressive mix of European and Asian employees and the cultural diversity that brings.
Presentations and meetings are part of the day to day workings within Hyundai Motor Europe, like any major business but also there are a number of large trade presentations and demonstrations so the scope of presentations was broad.
This interactive, practical style of training was new to the company but they couldn’t have been more involved. Individuals were happy to try out a number of techniques that helped them become more compelling.
One of the key learning’s that was taken from the training was the fact that the human element of a presentation can sometimes be far more interesting than a PowerPoint.
Delegates were freed from the confines - both physically and verbally - of the big screen on the wall. Also, because the level of knowledge about their individual areas was immense, delegates began to move more quickly, where possible, to a more interactive style of presenting with their audience.
Their discovery of presentation being a 'constant' - not just a skill practised in an official presentation context - was also a key learning moment. Such a discovery allowed the delegates to access a wider spectrum of choices that could be applied to a whole range of scenarios.
The training provided an opportunity for delegates to explore their own unique presenting style and identify how best to apply this style within HME.
We were proud of the commitment and willingness of the delegates to try everything we threw in front of them and were so pleased with the feedback we received.
