Presenting with Confidence - The Village School

Presenting with Confidence - The Village School

The Village School is one of those schools you wish was in every community in the land.

This is a flagship institution now housed in a brand spanking new state of the art building catering to the special needs of children between the ages of 4 and 19.

More than their amazing building, the factors that make the Village School outstanding are their values, philosophy and total commitment of their Head, Board and Staff.

Impact Factory’s Katherine Grice and Simon Westwood spent two action-packed days with their middle leaders to develop confidence in their presentation skills.

These wonderful people are great communicators and are expert at dealing with the children in their care and their parents.

What they were looking for was greater self-assurance in training others and delivering presentations to the senior team and their peers.

Katherine and Simon had a great two days and said it was like working the United Nations of Brent with a terrific mix of cultures and backgrounds.

Over two days, they were able to work at quite a deep level, incorporating personal storytelling that was moving, funny and enlightening.

Not only did this superb group of people become better presenters, they also discovered a great deal about each other, arrived at a common understanding of their shared challenges and created a support network.

They realised that stepping into greater leadership roles is not just about being subject experts but far more about how they engage with others on all levels.

The story didn’t end there, however, and Katherine and Simon returned to the Village School to work with team again on Leadership and Communication.
