I made a real effort to try and breath normally, take reasonable pauses and project confidence. From my side, it felt good (I actually almost enjoyed the experience). I found the course incredibly helpful for practising new communication techniques. It's all well and good to understand the theory of communication - but the hard bit is really in putting the theory into practice. For example, the exercises on giving feedback were incredibly helpful. Specifically, it helped me realise that less is more. If you try and sugar coat your message in too much explanation, you can lose the power of that message. Overall, this was an invaluable course for me. I hope that 2-3 key lessons will stick with me for years to come, and become imbedded in the way I communicate.
